Yellowstone. Should I bother to finish it?

I would just read the recap, personally

Beth was unwatchable. Why was she written like that??

All I watched of Yellowstone was a wee clip of a scene with Beth on YouTube and it was completely nuts! It put me off watching the show, absolutely.

If I wouldn't allow her in my house, why should I waste my time watching her on TV?

The cinematography alone is worth it. It would have been better if Jamie had killed Beth. I really hated all her diatribes and insults.

It was sort of good for awhile, but I’m now in season 4 and so much of it is just god awful. There are only so many new enemies trying to get the Duttons one can watch without getting totally desensitized, Beth and Rip are abusive psychos, and the writer is now in the show, and is a jackass who I’m convinced hates all women.

And I’ve heard it only gets worse as Kevin Costner leaves, right?

I’m paying for it by season bc it moved off Netflix in the US.

Do I bother?

It’s on Paramount Plus. It never was on Netflix.

Yellowstone streams on Peacock. The spin offs are on Paramount Plus.

I thought it used to be on Paramount Plus.

If you love her you'll love the show and finish it. If not, why are you even watching?

I LOVED it but I always loved Beth. Unless you've been through hell aim not sure you'll ever get her. She's was damaged, totally Fd up, imperfect, nuts and incorrigible but also brilliant, strong, soulful and loyal. Rip loved her exactly for who she was ugly and all. That's true love there. She loved him back.

But honestly if you feel she's too gross and evil, I understand but you're just wrong. A lot of people are like this in real life.

Beth and Rip probably would have been my favorite characters but for the way Beth was written. It was just too much.

She was such an ass but could be fun to watch. Monica and Piper Perabo (sp, forgot character's name!) were tedious and boring whiny characters. I don't think Sheridan is capable of writing a soft yet strong and maternal character.

Agree. It's Sheridan that is making these women unlikeable.

Well, not to be a know it all but that’s not entirely accurate. I have been watching it on Amazon prime but before that I watched it on Netflix outside of the US.

Op. This is how I feel. I am not done but I hear Beth lives which is hugely disappointing

Highly overrated program, completely ridiculous. Couldn't get through even one season, much less more.

From what others have said who stuck it out, they wish they hadn't bothered wasting time on it.

Op. I ended up buying the last season. Sick this week so needed something. Ugh. It’s terrible. Super cheese. And I can’t stand Beth’s character

It's confusing because it aired on the Paramount Network on cable but streams on Peacock.

I too wished Jamie had killed Beth.

I feel vindicated by this thread! I also hated Beth who was such a bully. A shame since I’ve liked Kelly Reilly in other things.

I also hated how Jaime was seen as less than because he was adopted. He was a terrible person because he tried to make his Dutton family love him? An impossible task since it was predetermined that his adopted status made him unworthy of the Dutton name!

Lastly Sheridan really does hate women. What was up with all the violence? The fights between Beth and Jamie were insane. The most absurd fight of all was between Beth and Summer. I felt embarrassed to even see it.

Sheridan likes girl on girl violence. Look at 1923 with the nun abusing the girls or Timothy Dalton’s character abusing prostitutes. It is the definition of gratuitous.

Sheridan also made himself a character in Yellowstone that wasn’t very nice and degraded women.

Totally agree with all that. Sheridan seems creepy. He loves a beat up woman with some cleavage. And the women walk around bruised episode after episode while kevin Costner pops right up looking good as new after cancer, being shot, car accidents, etc.
