Conservative/Midde of the Road Liturgical Church

Theologically I feel like this aligns with many of the above recommendations, so +1.

Try All Saints on CC Circle. Great community.

We are looking for something more middle of the road and wondering if anyone can point us in the right direction or whether it exists here. Thanks!

Kind of doesn’t exist here.
I think you must be from out of state.

9 am service is slightly more high church than the 11 am service.

If that's not close, generally any ACNA church will be what you want in terms of middle of the road politically. Theologically pretty conservative, but some diocese ordain women (which at least back in the 90s was theologically liberal) while others don't.

Falls Church Anglican hid a sex abuse scandal for decades.

No, they didn't hide it. Reporting requirements in the 2000s were different. Should they have done better? Yes. Did they violate laws or intend to sweep something under the rug? No.

I bet you came in with the Trump administration. Soon there will be an emptying out at area churches because fired government employees are leaving town and those who are staying here can't afford extras like church membership.

Did you know that Trump himself is an atheist?

Musk is an atheist too.

Yes they did. Stop making excuses.

Correct -- and both Trump and Musk are bad atheists. Just lacking belief in the existence of God, obviously doesn't make you a kinder or better person.

Still, there are plenty of bad religious people. "God knows" there are a lot more of them right now.

That’s St George.

If OP isn’t Greek, I would recommend OCA instead because the liturgy will be in English.

However, if OP is a bigot, one of those breakaway Anglican churches (the ones so scared of gay folks that they joined an African diocese) like Truro or Falls Church Anglican might work.

I doubt that OP sees themselves as a bigot, even if they are one. But if they came to the area with Trump, they may have trouble finding a church where people support Trump and should probably not share their political views or their reasons for coming to the region now when so many are forced to leave.

If they are coming because they work for Trump, perhaps it is best to ask an existing Christian Trump supporter where they go to church to find a place that is not hostile.

Good luck finding a Trump supporter around here. Some people may have voted for him, but they probably don't still approve of him after his various actions.

That site is - to it's incredible credit - way more nuanced than you are.

Falls Church Angican is a wonderful church. Especially for Trump supporters who should feel very at home there.

The Falls Church Anglican would be perfect for any bigot.
