If you think Christianity is a fairy tale, then where did the Bible come from?

I really don't see how this is an argument for Christianity.

Look, your faith is your business, but if you're out looking for definitive proof to do the whole "checkmate atheists" thing, you're going to either come up empty or end up making pretty absurd arguments.

You have to live with the fact that not everyone shares your beliefs. Other people believe their own faiths are the one true religion as well. Some people believe none of it.

Where did Lord of the Rings come from? Somebody wrote a story down.

For the Bible, a whole bunch of people wrote a story down.

Many stories. They evolved and some variations were accepted over time. Others weren't.

You tell us where it came from? You’re the believer.

Even if it was divinely inspired it was written by human beings. That's where it came from.

Of course! Widespread literacy is a modern trait. Until the last 300 years or so, most people couldn't read.

Honestly people who post stuff like this makes me think you're not very secure in your own faith if you feel threatened by the non belief or doubts of others, or of you feel the need to come up with some steel trap logic to justify this.

I was raised in an interfaith family myself and accepting there are different beliefs and you can decide what you believe for yourself, you accept not everyone is going to agree, and you just move on.

I would be careful about going down this road OP. Once you open yourself to serious critical thinking, your faith will be at risk.

If you are a nonbeliever, I respect you. But how do you answer this?

The Bible was written by a bunch of Jews, of course.

It helped that a Christian ruler was in charge at the time.

Literally yes. Men wrote the bible. You aren’t trying to say that god wrote this novel?
