Who can write Project 2028?

How about just make American a democracy again?

Five bullet points

Restoration of the rule of law
Restoration of checks and balances
Restoration of separation of powers
Return of the scientific community to government
Restore traditional international alliances

Rahm is yesteryear’s news. Bashing trans people is not getting Ds to victory. They have to talk to voters who are not terminally online; running on the preservation of democracy itself was, in retrospect, a mistake.

If the Democratic response to the current extreme MAGA administration is simply the opposite extreme, then I may actually decide not to vote in 2028. I'm done with the extremism of both sides.

There has been no extremist left, you are just an idiot. Please stay home.

I’d also love to see a few aspirational bullet points, like a cost effective solution for healthcare.

The smug aholes that got us into this, aren’t the ones to get us out.
No thank you.

+1 If a Democratic Project 2028 simply means to totally reverse ALL of Trump's EOs (they aren't all bad...perhaps just badly implemented)..then no, absolutely not in favor.

There needs to be less extremism from both sides...that's what landed us in this mess to begin with. There needs to be a clean slate - stop with the blame game. Just look forward and put forth a new "best in breed" Project 2028 -- meaning take a look at Trump's EOs without bias - the EOs that a majority of the country fundamentally favor (and voted for or even support even though they voted for Harris) and incorporate them into Project 2028 with perhaps a modified plan of execution/implementation.

I voted for Harris and can't stand Trump, but I fundamentally support the idea of many of his EOs even though I may disagree with how they are being implemented.

So you aren’t a D.

No one cares what you think about the D platform.

I'm not a progressive liberal Dem. Believe it or not there are...or rather were conservative Democrats.

I do not vote straight R or D -- I vote for the policies that align most with what I believe in...sometimes its a Democrat and other times its a Republican.

I'm a moderate swing voter and if you don't care what I think about the D platform that speaks volumes and that's why you lost in 2024 and will likely lose again in 2028. Remember that.

I might or might not care about what you think...depending on which state you live in.

This describes me, my husband, my sibling and almost everyone that I know. We all voted for Harris because we knew what was at stake but we also disagree with the progressive platform. The far left wing of the party brought us Trump. It stupid to keep catering to the far left because the middle is much larger. Unfortunately, the dems learned nothing and are doubling down on unpopular legislation.

Can you give me an example of unpopular Biden-supported legislation? And before you say “trans” - almost every gender-affirming policy has been implemented at the local (not national) level. Think about the logic of electing JD Vance because you don’t like Portland’s stance on High School athletics.

There’s no reason to articulate anything beyond broad principles of governance. Laying out detailed policy proscriptions will lead to attacks from the left or the right.

Gift opinion article which basically says the do nothing sit watch and watch implosion approach is not the right one. Instead, progressive liberal Dems who care about people need to propose ambitious solutions bc there are real problems in our system and government.

Who (person / groups) is positioned to write such a thing? Would they?

IMO watching an implosion might be fun but it doesn’t provide a viable alternative that reacts to the real problems in the US for the midterms and next Presidential cycles.

NP. You’ll first have to convince the country that progressive liberal Dems actually care about people. I don’t believe that any more (moderate Democrat here) and I don’t know anyone who does actually believe that.

I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. Why don't progressives "care about people"?

They don’t support policies that actually help most people. They are in favor of funding their rapacious NGOs, and supporting the desires of extreme left white elitists.

I actually don’t see much of a difference between MAGA and progressive leftists as far as how much they care about people (very little).

VA FWIW.

Supported and voted for both Kaine and Warner.

Also voted for Youngkin and while you can disagree with his stance on certain issues you cannot deny that he has brought economic prosperity to VA with a budget surplus. And I care more about the state's economic prosperity than I do about other issues. Call me selfish if you must.

As for who I'll vote for in 2026 or 2028....whoever does not pigeonhole themselves into a single-issue extremist platform.

Progressive liberal democrats are why we are in this mess in the first place. The best thing the progressive left can do is STFU.

Ds should not cater to bigots.

Ds have learned absolutely nothing.

Fck you, bigot.

Are you trolling? Or are you actually a living, breathing example of why democrats lost so badly?

+1 another moderate registered D that always voted for our R governors for their fiscal policies. There’s waste in the system and I don’t agree with the method, I agree with the need.

The D. Party better reign in their far left or they will lose again.

Thank you. Yes, I think I will...along with many other voters who decided to stay home last year....which is a big reason Democrats lost.
