Drive a Tesla? You’re driving THE most dangerous car ever made.

Car dealers won't take a Tesla on a trade in. They said they can't get rid of them.

We have a 2017 or 2018 model 3 and I find it very safe. It stops on a dime. I’m a cautious driver.
I hate Elon Musk with the fire of a thousand suns and would never buy another Tesla but I’m not particularly worried about getting rid of the one I’ve got. I charge it off our solar panels and it has needed very little maintenance.

I could have written this except we have a 2018 Model S. It is DH's 3rd Tesla and he was one of the first in our area to buy one. He enjoys driving it but says he will not replace it with another Tesla when he needs a new car because of Musk. Don't really care about trade-in value.

I hate elon musk. I think tesla is a decent car, and I will never drive it fully automatic because it spazzes out at times.

If it were truly that dangerous it would not have such low insurance rates. Don't believe every piece of crap put out in the "media".

Most any electric vehicle with lithium ion batteries is a major fire hazard. Comes with the nature of the batteries.
Perhaps some day battery mfgs will make a safer version.

This USA today headline is an example of why we need better data science and journalism. You can make numbers say anything you want.

Did you know that carrying matches or a lighter in your pocket means you are 30 times more likely to get lung cancer? Except the matches are a confounder, a false exposure. It turns out that smoking is the real risk.

70% of Tesla owners are male, as opposed to 57% for Honda or 59% for Toyota. 74% of car crash fatalities involve male drivers. I can’t say for certain, but I’ll suggest that gender is the real exposure here. But we won’t know unless there is better analysis of the data. Until then, it’s just more crappy journalism that USA Today excels in.

The second you said driving a Tesla could mean someone could call CPS on you, I knew I could take anything you said seriously. And no, I don't own or want a Tesla.

You are more likely to die in a Tesla than in any other car made. Transporting children in a Tesla would possibly be grounds for having a stranger call CPS on you. If you bought one for your child to drive, they may well die because of your choice.

In the interest of full disclosure and transparency, I currently own a Tesla Model 3. I am desperately trying to figure out how to get rid of it. So I’ve got skin in the game too.

This statement is absolutely hysterical and unhinged.

This is an absolute LIE.

All other EV’s besides Tesla use batteries that are completely safe. Tesla is the only EV company that has ever experienced battery fires. For all other EV’s it’s literally unheard of.

Look it up.

Only Teslas catch fire.

Cool story. Not true though. Battery storage facicilites go up in flames quite often now.

More people die in Teslas from fires because of the manual override for the electronic looks value form over function/safety/sanity.

Well that’s not true because my other car is a Chrysler hybrid minivan and it’s been recalled like twice for spontaneous combustion. And there was at least one other EV that had major fire problems that I think is now off the market.

Liar.

There has never been another case of an EV other than a Tesla catching fire. It literally never happens. Except to Teslas.

Ha worse than a Ford Pinto!

This was funny. We owned a Pinto back in the 70's. It started on fire. We got rid of it.
