It is 6 1/2 hours’ drive from PBC & nearly 4 hours’ drive to Otown
Honestly don’t know if many FL kids go home on weekends |
This. If your family lives close enough for you to go home on the weekends, Tallahassee is likely to be a lot more fun than home. Granted, my experience was way back in the early 90s, but I had no problems adjusting as an OOS student at FSU. The honors program, especially, had a lot of OOS students, probably because of the good National Merit scholarships. Living in the dorm helped, too. The kids who were likely to be overly-attached to high school friends were already living in off-campus apartments with those people anyway, but the dorm residents seemed more open to meeting new people. |
| I have two at UF, but FSU is definitely rising. You’ll find plenty of smart kids there who also like to have fun, and the cost is very reasonable for OOS. We know a few DMV kids at FSU, and they’re all very happy. Tallahassee can also be a nice place for interns, depending on your kid’s major. |
I know rankings are silly but this caught my eye: https://news.fsu.edu/news/university-news/2024/09/23/fsu-achieves-no-10-ranking-in-niches-2025-top-public-universities-in-america/ |
Not Surprising. |
Omg. 1320 median SAT!?!?!?? |
Nah..Niche has old stats. https://x.com/fsuadmissions/status/1867327341929656333?s=46&t=VwahWvlKDu3vneAs6RYySQ |
Not even 1400? |
What's your point? The MEDIAN is between 1340 -1450 SAT and ACT 30-33 |
| FSU is also not test optional! |
