Is W&L any good?

A corollary is that the alumni population and network are necessarily correspondingly smaller. The lack of name recognition may be a drawback professionally, at least in the early career stage where one doesn't yet have extensive credible experience, unless a student goes on to a better-known graduate school later.

Word salad.

What’s your contribution or are you a troll?

So, rest sharing the same rank are well known?

agree it’s a feeder to the Street - may not have the placement of a Bucknell, but W&L punches above its weight in finance - alumni jocks have a rabid sense of loyalty

agree some obnoxious lax bros, but the school in general has a very balanced political vibe - extremely rare for a SLAC

Did not get that impression when I visited.

Good for what, are you seriously confused if a top college is a top college? What major are you looking at? What kind of student do you have? What support does your child need?

Subtle Bucknell booster.

What does a balanced political vibe mean?

It means it isn't a woke cesspool, but it isn't Liberty/Patrick Henry either.

Most colleges have political views that trend considerably left of the general population.

This WalletHub ranking, for example, which used fairly conventional methods, placed W&L a notable 18th when compared to colleges and universities nationally:

https://wallethub.com/edu/e/college-rankings/40750

As a subjective comment, W&L appears to be more conservative and preppy than its academic peers, perhaps to an extent at which it might seem borderline archaic to some.

WalletHub ranks W&L 5 spots ahead of Penn and 7 spots ahead of Chicago. I suppose it’s possible. Oddly, the lead in to the list has the top five colleges include 4 that are ranked behind W&L (the fifth being Swarthmore). A quirky ranking, publication and presentation. That said, if my older child decides on law school, I hope she considers W&L.

The wallethub rankings are a fascinating resource. W&L is the 608th safest campus and Northeastern is 99th safest. The least safe campus is St. Mary’s College of Maryland.

Why would St. Mary's College of Maryland be deemed unsafe? That makes zero sense.

They don't screen admits for their ability to swim?
