Is W&L any good and for what kind of kids?
It's ranking dropped from 11 to 19, why? |
| It’s very good, and absolutely zero changed from the day it was 11 to the next day it became 19. |
|
It is very good. Want some internal insights? Have a look at their student run newspaper:

| it is good but does not belong T15 LAC based on the less than top-tier students they take from our private. Think of it as a regional school with some ties to DC. It does not have a nationally-known reputation as the true T15 Lacs do |
+1 Test scores are up there with UVA and W&M. |
Yes. It's any good. |
Yes it is. It for smart high stats kids like the other top SLACS ( < 20% acceptance rate). It dropped 8 spots in USNWR (social mobility weightings) and is STILL in T20 SLACs. |
Well, there is no LAC at 15. After 14 its straight to 19 shared among W&L, Grinnell and Middlebury. |
| Very, very conservative. That's its major appeal. |
| Among LACs, W&L is a top feeder to The Street, along with Williams, Bucknell, and Colgate. Its ranking dropped because of Pell Grant data, which is meaningless and can be ignored. The Johnson scholarship, offered to 10% of each incoming class, is one of the best deals in higher education. |
The site seems to have obeyed some formality by placing W&L in a subcategory with universities. |
| It's a fine school, with selective admissions, but is relatively small and is not necessarily well known despite being selective. A corollary is that the alumni population and network are necessarily correspondingly smaller. The lack of name recognition may be a drawback professionally, at least in the early career stage where one doesn't yet have extensive credible experience, unless a student goes on to a better-known graduate school later. |
You should be embarrassed to post something this stupid. |
Lots of kids get hit by sailboats |
Word salad. |
