After last week's shooting outside the school, I expect more of a police presence to reassure students and act as dissuasion to would-be recidivists.

No, I do not expect notification that there is extra police presence.

State Super should have intervened immediately. The amount of leeway parents have give towards school system and the "system" is appalling. Why haven't parents and (where the F are the teachers & staff unions?) gotten an action suit together? Students and those who are responsible for the care of the students during school hours have a RIGHT to learn/work in a safe environment! Wow. Wow. Wow. How many fking lockdowns do these teens need to go through fking MCPS??!

You know the incident last week didn't happen in school, right?
Save your fake outrage for something else.

It happened because BCC students were not in the school building.

Why is BCC the guinea pig? Why does that school need to be the one to be tested to see if procedures and processes are in place? Doors locked, not locked, which one is it?? If you can't fix what was wrong after ONE lockdown, what the FCK is your job, MCPS?

Is that the line you always resort to when you have nothing worthwhile to say?

The problem is ignoring these problems will actually encourage and justify the very thing they're fearful of.

Well Said!

A student was at the EW Hwy door trying to get in after Period 1. Didn't look like anyone would let him in. Eventually he walked away from school toward this side apartments across school. If it was a student of that school, shouldn't he have had a student id+lanyard and used front doors (presuming those are not the front doors of the school)?
