Do you get nervous leading up to travel?

Yes. I get nervous and honestly, truly dread traveling up until I actually get to the airport. Then it's like a switch goes off and I'm just fine.

I don’t necessarily get nervous, but I get intense, talking really fast and ordering people around. I relax when we get there.

Same here. In the days leading up to the trip I’m a mess, but as soon as the plane takes off or I’m out of my town (if driving), it’s all good.

Yes, and an experienced traveler. I've noticed it's not a conscious nervousness, I'll just find myself stressed out the night before.

I do like travel but hate flying because I tend to get a little nauseous because of a problem with one my ears.

I’m the same way. I do the planning for my family. Packing is not bad, but did I book the right things for the right dates? How will we get all the different places, all those little details I do not want to miss. Once I’m on the plane I’m good

Will we get sick, do I have everything set up at home, will weather affect our flights, did I do a good job with the trip planning details, etc. It's probably natural, but I wonder if others are able to take it more in stride than I do. Part of it is that travel has become so expensive that it feels high stakes!

YES. All of these, lol. I’m a worrier and thinker in general, about everything. Sigh.

Definitely worried about illness and weather. Supposed to travel in 2.5 weeks.

OP here, this makes me feel better. At least I'm not the only one! I really do enjoy travel/vacations once I'm there and settled in. But every time the lead up makes me wonder why I do this to myself. I should save the money and just stay home!

I'm always rushing to finish packing by the time we need to leave, so yeah, I'm kind of stressed leading up to the trip. Usually once we are on the way, I relax a bit.

I always think it is good to have low expectations though

Interesting. I often am excited and then I get to the airport and think-

Oh man why do I always forget how stressful this place is.

Same. Get very nervous pre-travel.

I get nervous about airports and flights. Not fears of a plane crash but fears of drip feed 20 minute delay turning into 4 hours before finally a cancellation and missed connections and all that nightmare.

I have packing phobia, forgetting medications, paperwork, losing stuff.

I used to be the same way. I just started traveling a few months out of the year so I changed up how I travel. I now pack a lot lighter. I'm a guy, so for clothes I just bring 2 cargo pants, 2 pairs of shorts, and maybe 8 t-shirts. And I know it sounds OCD, but I made a check list for everything I need to pack. It maybe takes me a couple of hours to get ready for a month long trip.

With musk in charge yes

This is going to be fun.

No, but my OCD kicks in over-drive.
