The "hard one" is geometry honors. Credit recovery geometry for kids who failed the first time through is painfully easy. When you realize only kids who failed take it but then half the kids with it on their transcripts get As in summer school, something is weird.
I wish summer school was foundational math skills instead of credit recovery. My kids who fail algebra/geometry/algebra 2 are failing because they don't understand what a variable is and how to evaluate expressions. They can't solve a 2 step equation let alone a quadratic. Learning calculator tricks for solving a system doesn't help with future courses.
