When are HOPE scores done?

What about the bottom part of the form ? Any checked off areas?

Has anybody else already received their AAP packet?
Anonymous
No and that person probably made that story up.

Yes, ideally with things that address the HOPE areas. Teacher input is the biggest factor (followed by CogAT quantitative) into getting into AAP as of the most recent public data, from 2020.

My child said she had a sub yesterday. Thinking the second grade teachers were doing the AAP packets this week?

I received my child’s AAP packet today from the AART.

Did you request it?

Is it normal to request it this early?

Yes I requested it. In my experience the AART can release the AAP packet to parents as long as it has already been submitted to the central committee. I think all packets have been submitted by this point.

I think it's somewhat school dependent, although obviously there's one final deadline. You always know if a 2nd grader says the sub was for "a meeting" or "meetings."

Plenty of teachers still getting sick right now.

I did not know that you could do this.

I have never heard of this. Is this documented somewhere? Does the school still submit work samples then, but not the HOPE form?

I cannot imagine how this would help with the AAP admissions process to have a less-full picture of your child compared to all the kids who have great HOPE ratings at the same school...

I mean, it would certainly help if the parent knew the scores would be low.

DC had nothing at the bottom of the form ("exceptional talent") checked off, not even math despite 99th percentile iReady score and CoGAT quant (plus overall), plus level 2 math. I don't understand. What does a student need to achieve to check off one of those boxes? How much does it matter for advanced math and full-time AAP?

It’s an assessment, you have parental rights to opt out of assessments of any kind. (Except the few needed in high school for graduation purposes, not sure how that would work).
