When are HOPE scores done?

Wondering if they are done for everyone or just kids who were referred or in pool.

usually its done for kids in pool and also referred but not sure about the timeline for in-pool . For kids being referred its usually Jan i think. In my kids case AART gave some questions for the referred kids across his grade during Jan .

Do you think HOPe scores are already done by now - early February?

Last year's timeline for DC :

HOPE was dated early February;
Packet screening summary sheet was dated 2/29/24.
DC was parent-referred in December, but that doesn't seem to have affected the timeline.

I vaguely remember reading on dcum that their HOPE was done in the fall but I have no idea what grade or circumstances. Maybe they were new to fcps.

Yes, some were dated as noted above. They probably could have included the 2nd grade second quarter report card, but they only included the full year first grade one and the 2nd grade first quarter report card. I doubt it would have mattered either way. Scores were very high and HOPE was favorable (I didn't really understand that at the time because it definitely wasn't perfect, but it compared well to those other parents reported on.)

My child's HOPE form last year was dated early December, which would have been before the AART or teacher even knew who was in pool and who was being parent referred. BOTH the first quarter AND second quarter second grade report card were included, as well as the entire first grade report card.

No they were only parent referred. My only thought was that the teacher filled out the hope form for every child, regardless of who was applying for aap.

I assumed the teachers did the hope scores only for students being considered for AAP. Or are all students given a score and that is when teacher decides to teacher refer kids.

I requested my packet to the AART and received it today. DC received all sometimes ratings in hope and rarely in being a leader. Should I be worried and start planning for appeal?

How good are the COGAT and iReady scores? If those are borderline, then yes you could start planning for an appeal. Unfortunately, the HOPE form is highly subjective.
