Emilia Perez is such a garbage movie. Self-indulgent crap by a French director stereotyping Mexicans, and Gascon is an unappealing performer hard to watch. Forget the tweets, there is nothing about this movie or performance worthy of any awards.

Yeah, how does Hollywood get themselves out of this mess. If Karla wins, they are endorsing the very behavior that they would condemn from someone not trans.

I have not yet seen Emilia Pérez (and was unsure if I would because I was put off by the musical angle) but Karla Sofía Gascón has been a darling of the awards circuit this year. Will be interesting to see how Hollywood responds.

The way she went after literally ever race is disgusting!! The academy will need to say something to denounce her. I read this good article that said Hollywood only attached themselves to EP because of the current political world. They wanted another greenwood. Well looks like EP perfectly reflects our society

He’s a man and should be nominated in the Best Actor category. He’s taking away recognition from an actress. And his tweets were horrible. He has a very bigoted world view, yet expects people to accept him as trans representation.
