Spring Break for 3 - under $2k?

Came here to say JAX. Beaches, zoo, St Augustine. I think you can fit it in at your budget, and it will be a different enough experience from Orlando and the parks there.

Wow how helpful

Do you want me to run the airline searches for her? For her budget, airfare is going to be the driver of where she goes. She needs to start there. That IS helpful.

So you will need to choose a southern location where it's off season.

If you can find good tix magically, Chicago is Amazon. Montreal or QC as well.

Look at FL maybe.

If you fly Monday & Friday, you’ll likely find cheaper fares. Consider Chattanooga, too.

I guess I’m the crazy one- I don’t think you’re going anywhere for multiple days for 2k unless you drive. Go to Pittsburgh, it’s amazing with kids. Will be not great weather but you just can’t fly anywhere at spring break and do lodging and meals and activities for 2k, it’s too expensive at that time.

She can fly DC to JAX non stop on American 4/14-4/18 (Mon-Friday) for $382pp. That’s $1146. She has some hotel points and only needs to pay for two nights hotel. If she keeps that cheap, she can afford a rental car and inexpensive food. It’s tight, but doable.

Miami! Airfare is usually very inexpensive. Rent an air bnb with a pool in Brickell, walkable to loads of restaurants. Frost Museum, Superblue, Everglades tour, maybe a daypass to one of the fancy beach resorts with a cabana.

Oh, and also Kiawah/Charleston. Not sure what tickets are running but worst case scenario you break it up with a night along the way if you need to drive. It won't be beach weather but the Night Heron pool is heated and some of the smaller condos are usually reasonable. You will have access to resort amenities if you book through the resort. Go into Charleston, visit a plantation, ride bikes, etc.

Not crazy. If budget is 2k, you have to drive. How can you actually vacation and have fun, if you blow your budget on airfare and Ubers to and from airport? Williamsburg/Busch Gardens is fun, Pittsburgh is a great time too. Maybe Niagara Falls? I have been there a couple times, but am always amazed!

Given your budget, I would scale back and look for a place you can drive or maybe take the train. I'm currently looking at flights now to FL and they're in the $200+ range which will eat up a good amount of your budget.
Trips I have been on with my daughter that age for SB were NYC and Philly. Lots of fun things to see and explore. Plus taking the train is a fun experience too. But we have also done the bus both to NYC and Philly. Super cheap and then you can spend the rest on hotels and food.

San Antonio, $290/person on Delta that week (various day combos), rental car is around $250, lots of points hotel options, pick one with breakfast included. Tons to do there with kids.

Did you miss that she only has 3 people to buy for and she only needs two nights in a hotel due to her points? She can easily spend half the budget on airfare.

Last I checked, there were good spring break flights to Puerto Rico

Omg no, there isn't. The only decent part is the Riverwalk.
