| 14% at the woodley apartments in woodley park. |
| 14% - is that the annual increase or the first increase in a few years? |
| Rent is going up in DC area |
| The landlords allegedly collude through software. I've heard from friends who are apartment shopping that they'll monitor certain apartments, and the prices will fluctuate by $500 or more from week to week. Kind of crazy. I guess it's now like shopping for clothes -- you have to constantly monitor and then jump when the software program puts it on "sale." |
| My lease states 3 % if I like tenant I drop to 2 % or keep as is . |
| 10-15% minimum do it gradually rather than dump like 40% please after years of mom changes. Better yet build it into the maze |
| DC voucher program pays more than the actual market rent. |
| I only go up to the point where my taxes may increase. I want my tenants to stay. |
I guess the DOJ lawsuits against RealPage didn’t stick. |
| Raise rent after lease expires if rent is under market, tenants are violating lease and there is no other remedy. Hopefully they take the hint and leave. |
| So, are rents really going up in DC while people are afraid losing their jobs? They sure are up in my building, but the expensive ones have sat empty for months. |

MoCo limits rent increase to "the lesser of the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers for the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria (CPI-U) plus 3% or 6%" --- even with tenant turnover.
I guess I should have increased the rent after the Covid restrictions expired, during which HOA fees and utilities skyrocketed |
| I have rented the same condo for 10 years and the rent hasn't gone up. In return, I don't complain about the nasty tub that needs to be reglazed or the broken drawer in the kitchen. |
Rents seem really high right now. Hard to find a decent 1 BR under $2500, which is nuts. |
Lucky you. Not only do I not complain, I paid for an installation of an appliance after I went out and bought it, pay for all small fixes, ordered and paid for new filters, and tip the maintenance men well. I don't use several of the appliances as I prefer my own. My landlord still raised my rent 11%. They do consider me a great tenant, but I want out. The 11% increase was too much. |
