Pelvic PT - do that first. Surgery should be a last resort after exhausting normal rehab. Everyone needs normal rehab. A pelvic PT can help you fix this and most don’t need surgery.

I enrolled in Pilates classes, and the diastasis recti closed up in about 18 months after birth.

OP, you need an assessment and pelvic floor work, random an work can make things much worse.
