Costs vary depending on location. She may have entered a CCRM. We are in an ultra high cost area and my grandmother’s AL was 9k+ depending on level and SNF was 11k |
How do these Trump folks think they will be able to cover their parents' nursing home costs if Medicaid is gutted? |
Sorry, new here. What’s CCRM & SNF? |
Prices will go up even higher if a lot of the employees get deported. Looks like a cluster! |
You do need to be rich. My parent will spend $144k for assisted living this year.
|
Yep. If we had to pay this much for two of them, it would be very hard. For parent 1, we paid around $8k a month for memory care in 2018. By 2024, just assisted living was $10-11k. In 2025, it’ll be 11-12k. Memory care is more. |
What part of the country? |
CCRM:
Continuing Care Retirement Commu nitty SNF Skilled Nursing Facility |
Correcting my own spelling:
CCRM: Continuing Care Retirement Community SNF Skilled Nursing Facility |
missed one: what's AL? |
Assisted living |
Yeah, my mom has great nursing home insurance and we are in a low cost of living area but it covers four years! I get nervous whenever I see one of those photos on facebook of an older woman blowing out the candles on a 100th birthday cake. Wondering if she has been in memory care for 16 years and how they are paying for it. |
Western PA — 4 hrs from DC |
Since when is Western PA a High cost of living area? |
My mom is not yet in memory care, but she is at a high level of care at Sunrise AL. Rates went up in January so we are now paying about 10,500-11,000/month. |
