| Full after crib and queen when we moved at age 10. |
| Around 7 or 8 for my kids kids. My kids like to snuggle before bed ans it was too much to try to fit together in their twin. Also I found they both sleep better with more room. |

My kids are all teens:
DD has had a full bed since she was a preschooler (a frame we had in a guest room once upon a time), and has always worked for her so we kept it DS1 moved from a twin to a queen when he was about 13. He needed a new mattress at the time anyway, so decided to go larger. DS2 is still in a twin. His room is really too small to accommodate a full or queen without being cramped. May let him switch rooms with oldest sibling when she leaves for college. |
| I hate baby furniture, so we never had any. We had nicely furnished rooms BEFORE our kids were born and stuck a crib in there. When they didn't need a crib it was straight to the queen bed. Buy quality and keep it forever. I'll never have to refurnish their rooms. Paint and other minor decor is totally different. My 9 year old asked me to repaint over the custom mural on her wall, which I will do with some sadness next week |

We got DS1 a full at 13. He really wanted a bigger bed and we did it as a bday gift.
DS2 is currently 13 and still in a twin. It’s likely he’ll keep it for the foreseeable future. His room is tiny and he doesn’t want to switch to the bigger guest room bc he has the best window in the house. |
| Our 12 year olds bed doubles as the guest bed. When we have guests they get her room and she sleeps on the extra twin in her sisters room. The older kid used to have the queen but they switched because she wanted more floor space. My 12 year old loves the queen bed. |
| What size bed a kid gets probably just depends on the size of the room. |
| My 15 year old got upgraded when we had #3 since he moved bedrooms. |
| First kid when he turned 11. It was the only thing he wanted for his bday. Kid 2 when he was about 12.5. He didn’t care much but it was easier to have for guests. |
I slept in a double bed from about age 5 and up. I had no problem reverting to a twin xl in college. |
| Never. They don't have queen beds in college |
I had a full in high school and had no problem sharing an twin in college (oh to be young and in love). I actually sleep in a bed that's close to a xl twin as an adult and it's been fine as well. |
| We've been thinking about swapping out my 11 year old's twin bed for a full, but since her room is the larger one, it's where she and her sister play and they like having floor space. |
| Full sized at maybe 4 so we could read together. I hated the twin. Would have done a queen but room too small |
| No need to upgrade |
