So cover it left out in the bowl? It doesn’t go bad?

I think what you’re saying is we are offering too much, not that she’s eating too much because she’s not eating.

Only serve half in the bowl. Cover the can tightly for the next meal and refrigerate to slow oxidation. You're right, I meant to say you were offering too much.

Yes but she will not eat it after it’s been refrigerated. That’s the issue

Try it with a little water added and then microwave it for 5-10 seconds.
You can also buy Fancy Feast Petites or Sheba Perfect Portions.

The majority of cats won’t overeat. And they like the attention of being fed regularly. The idea that you can starve a cat into eating dried up nasty old food is nonsense. They’ll do without first. And it is cruel.

This is OP and she has dry food too, but so what do you do? I’m happy to feed her multiple times a day but I’d be wasting many cans.

You can reduce the waste if you give tiny portions. I’m talking one to two small plastic spoonfuls at a time. Despite the horror of other posters you can let the can sit covered at room temperature during the day. And if some gets tossed, it’s just part of living with a cat.

Our cats typically only ate the dry food occasionally, but we always left it out.

I’d just get the Sheba little portions, I had the same problem and that worked for me.

They don't want cold refrigerated food. Warm it or let it get to room temp. Take it out when you start fixing dinner, serve cat when you eat your dinner.

This is exactly what we do. Our cat gets a heaping tablespoon morning and night. He was also wasting a lot of food.

My blue Russian started to do this until she was refusing to eat any wet food at all. She only eats kibble now. Better for her teeth anyway.
