Well, Epstein was offered an incredibly sweet deal by a Republican DA (Acosta) and would have walked happily free if not for the investigation by the Miami Herald that lead to the charges brought against him in NY by a Dem DA. Acosta was in Trump’s cabinet when the Miami Herald investigation was published and had to resign.

Plus at the upcoming administration
The president was basically legally recognized as somebody who sexually assaulted a woman (without counting thr many more who accused him)
Defense secretary investigated for sexual assault after a woman went to police and accused him
The wrestling lady also involved in law proceeding related to sex abuse or children
