I honestly don't think ANY deadline is firm. There are reports on Reddit of most of the top20s extending deadlines, etc. Not fire related. Just because.
These colleges are happy to take your app (for their stats) and your money. They're trying to be the first to a 2% admissions rate. |
Yes saw in Reddit most ivies are still open and accepting applications |
And internationals are applying and applying and applying. Hundreds more each day. So many posts about applications. These schools are seriously crooked. |
Extenuating circumstances. Not for just “I missed the deadline.” Lots of T10s/20s/30s, etc did the same last year. |
Yes. From website: “We offer our sincere sympathy and support to those impacted by natural disasters or other disruptions to the community. In times of crisis, health and safety are paramount, and taking care of yourself and your family always take precedence. If you have been impacted by an extenuating circumstance that is making your college application process more challenging, we want to work with you to ensure you are still able to submit your application materials. Please be aware that deadline extensions are available, and you will not be disadvantaged in the admission process for delays caused by events beyond your control. “ |
Why do so many apply when they have little to no chance? |
Already rejected ED![]() |
Not enough COC (Children of Celebrity) applicants. |
There’s plenty already in Brown’s next class |
Another way to lower their acceptance rates… |
So they can get a full ride to an American college. |
Many are wealthy students who are avoiding their country’s competitive admission system and seeking the easier S/UK alternative- especially immigrants from China, Korea, and Japan. |
The latter is incorrect- there are a minuscule (as in statistically non-significant) number of Japanese students in the US college system. Get your facts straight you racist |
Do tell… |
Racist? This is such an obscene comment. There aren’t a ton, but there are certainly more Japanese international students than a vast majority of international students from other nations. You just want to start a fight. |
