Most adults remove most of the icing off a cupcake, right?

I hate icing, so yes. Generally I find most dessert foods way too sweet for me, which is why I bake my own and reduce by at least 50% the amount of sugar.

My best friend is very underweight, eats tiny portions, and craves very salty and sweet things. I think she needs to eat that way because she eats so little in total! She finds store-bought desserts perfectly fine

And a lot of kids won’t eat the frosting, so …. Wrong on both counts?

I have cupcakes 2 or 3 times a year. I'm not holding back...

Nope, for the approximately 1 cupcake I eat per year, I eat it with all of the icing.

Same. It’s very effective. Thanks, OP, for reminding me about what I’m “supposed to do.”

Right? Why exactly is an adult supposed to remove the frosting? So many people try to act superior with their declarations that desserts are too sweet.

This. Who cares what people do OP? People will be ok with some extra sugar lol. I don't like cake and frosting in general (but could crush a bowl of Doritos) but this seems like such an odd post.

A fresh cupcake doesn’t need an inch or two or three of butter icing. It’s there for aesthetics, to look pretty and appealing in the case or in the box. I think most adults know it’s proper form to remove most of it before actual consumption.

I so rarely eat cake or cupcakes that I want the icing as long as it’s real buttercream.

You forgot to say that this is the case “in your opinion”. Your opinion doesn’t make it a fact and frankly if someone serves you a cupcake, it’s pretty rude to scrape the frosting off.

You guys need to go to Lavender Moon in Alexandria. They make the best frosting (cream cheese, ricotta, peanut butter) and it isn't excessive.

Huh? No.

Who cares? It also seems like proper form not to judge others about their consumption or how they eat cupcakes lol. I'm just trying to wrap my head around the fact that there is adult out there tut tutting about how someone eats a cupcake!

When it’s 1-3 inches of buttered icing, you might as well pop a quarter stick cube of Kerrygold in your mouth. It’s just totally unnecessary and gluttonous.

Hell no. The icing is my favorite part. What is wrong with you?
