Car in Driveway with Lights On Overnight

PP. I never made out in my driveway. But you have zero privacy having a discussion in a common area of a house with family all around.

Dear DCUM, a car has been in the park for the last four hours since 4AM. Do I call 911 or just ask for drone strike?

If it wasn't the neighbor's car, I don't think it would have been crazy to have the police check it out.

Family isn't usually "all around" at 3am in a 4,000+ sq ft home.

I clicked on this thread, expecting it to be a discussion about where to get a new battery

No idea what the heck they were thinking, OP, but we all have our oddities. Live and let live.

Don't you fancy people have zoned burglar alarms like my aunt with a house that big? When I'm at her house, I never want to be first downstairs in the AM because you have to disarm it.

Also people have room cameras these days, lol..

I've had three extra people (beyond immediate family) in my small home since Dec 20. I've taken to sitting in the car occasionally just to get a break, listen to something that isn't sports, or have a private phone conversation.

I would assume they are trying to get away from kids / in laws / house guests this time of year. Lots of people are off until this coming Monday.

That's what I initially thought. Earlier in the night I was trying to decide if I should wake up the people in the house to turn off their car lights. That could have led to an awkard interaction if the car occupents didn't see me walking up.

Which is why they are in their own driveway instead of somewhere "discrete."

Nope. Unless you’re a paranoid nutcase.

Any chancy they have a baby that fell asleep in the car and they didn’t want to wake them up? I guess my theory doesn’t totally work but I sit in my own dire way frequently on weekend afternoons watching Netflix with a sleeping toddler in the back.

I have heard a few nighttime baby car ride stories in my time. Also plausible.

My speculation is that what we have here is an excessively nosy busy body of a neighbor.

If they left the baby in the car when they later returned, shut off the car, and went inside, I suppose. But that seems weird.

Plus they don't have a baby.
