I have my own theory here, but I'm curious where other minds go with this.
Last night I noticed my neighbor's had a car parked in their driveway with lights on for about 4 hours. At first I assumed they just left the lights on accidentally, but then I noticed the bright headlights occasionally turned on and off. Well after midnight, I started going outside to see if I recognized the car. As soon as I opened my door that car quickly drove away. In the process I saw that it was my neighbor's own car. It came back about 15 minutes later and someone went inside the house. Speculate away. It seems pretty clear, but your family's driveway seems like an awfully strange place to do that. |
| What is the family structure? Do they have teens? |
| Teenaged DC meeting with their partner. |
| Someone needing some space / alone time |
| No idea. |

Fwiw, I routinely eat an entire package of Oreos in my car in the middle of the night while listening to NPR or blasting The Sound of Silence.
Hello darkness my old friend…chomp chomp chomp..sad whimpering…chomp chomp chomp |
Bingo. Yes, including an older one. |
Op here. Based on the time and the headlight controls that apparently kept getting bumped, I don't think they were alone. |
PP again. I frequently add a light show along with the music when I’m binge eating in my driveway. |
For 4 hours? Until 3am? Maybe, but that seems unlikely. |
I love this. |
| I feel sorry for the teen that needs to sneak around like this, but why would they do it in the driveway? Particularly with the headlights on? Assuming they were out there because the parents were home, wouldn't they want to go somewhere more discrete? |
Teens. When my boyfriend used to bring me home by curfew we would sit in his car in my driveway talking until my parents flashed the porch light a whole bunch of times. We referred to that practice as "the electrical storm". The car was turned on for warmth or starting the stereo back up. You probably interrupted them making out and they freaked out. Maybe somebody needed a few minutes to straighten their clothes, lol. |
Dear DCUM, a car has been in the park for the last four hours since 4AM. Do I call 911 or just ask for drone strike? |
lol lol You're joking...right?! |
