Jan 5/6 Snow Event Updates

I'm OP and posted the map above. Model runs today have been remarkably coherent and similar, so... there's a better than usual chance that the scenario above will actually happen. Which seems crazy to me, considering how often we've been disappointed in the past. Take it all with a grain a salt, though, it's only Thursday.

Quick! Run to the store to get bread, milk, and batteries!.
Also make run to ABC store.

I have preemptively abandoned my SUV on the Wilson bridge.

I have stormed into Giant and cleared the shelves of bread, milk and toilet paper. There’s only distilled water left now.

I abandoned my minivan on a Snow Emergency Route on a main road, but I left the hazards on so it’ll be ok.

Calling Aidan/Savannah/Cole out of FCPS now.

Quick! Everyone panic! Start screaming and running in circles. Drive with your hazards on, pass on the shoulder, ignore traffic signals - you must floor it and drive around town aggressively and at a high rate of speed - you MUST get all the food right this second!

Race to Costco! Run! Hurry!

My kid is, too! Coincidence? I think not.

Models continue to be pretty consistent. Kuchera is always optimistic, so maybe take off a couple of inches.

The map I just saw is up to 13-14" in MD, 11-12" in VA, through Wednesday. (I think. The map tool is complicated.)

Costco has been a $hitshow the past two weeks, even before the hint of snow. I already vowed I wouldn’t be back until school resumed and I stand by that. If my closest grocer doesn’t have it, we will do without.

Anyone been to Costco today? I have about $300 in returns.

Don’t do it. Wait until the snow is over. I went the 23rd and 30th and wanted to poke my eyes out.

I am betting $5 that this will be a bust. Maybe 1-2 inches but the storm will miss us. You can blame the lady on the other thread that just bought sleds for her kids.
