Frustrated with teen's approach to NYE planning

Jeez lady—her plans haven’t fallen through, but, if they did, you’d make her do chores for you and your stupid mom friends?

Spoken like the mom of small kids.

No, I have three teens.

You make your 3 teens stay home for a family gathering on NYE?!? lol

Teens always do this.

I am, too! I don't know what I am going yet, either. LOL

Same parents that are handwringing about kids just sitting on their phones all the time, but don’t want to let their kids go or do anything lol

She about had a meltdown when I told her she needed to pick one of the big activities (dinner or skiing).

Sounds like mine too!

It’s 4:22pm and I still don’t know exactly what my 17 yr old DD has planned for tonight.

And I’m fine with it.

I wouldn't get involved with this at all.

I wish my 15 and 13 year old had plans or even chaotic plans. I am tired of the expectations that we have to do things.

My oldest is 16, I have learned that they have no idea what the plan is until like an hour before. I have gotten worked up and stressed about their plans multiple times before I realized I should just calm down till they figure out actual plans. Just my .02

On things like tonight I do require a check in every couple hours

Lol. Can't you host your own friends, or did you not plan well enough in advance?
