Do you wash blankets/quilts between guests?

I always assume not. Just like they don't wash the furniture after any guest had been seated there. Nor do they sanitize everything that previous guests have touched.

I assume there are clean towels and clean sheets and that's it.

How are you sure blankets are not coming into contact with skin? My husband often tangles himself in the top sheet and ends up with the blanket directly on top of him….

Not to mention…. bodily fluids can definitely penetrate multiple layers.

Eww. Remind me to bring my own blankets next time I stay anywhere.

I wash all bedding after a visitor. Yes, I would expect all bedding to be washed when I am a guest.

I use duvets for this purpose. I would wash blankets. I don’t use quilts because they can’t be washed easily. This is also why I stay in hotels.

Hotels don't you know that right?

Always. What kind of person does not? One raised by dirty parents?

And that is why I never stay at them. We are fortunate to have a few staffed houses in our favourite cities around the world.

Out guest bed has cotton sheets, a cotton blanket, a quilted coverlet thing and a duvet with a down insert.

I always wash the sheets, blanket and duvet cover. The coverlet gets washed if I have time between guests, but if the turnover is quick it might not. Sorry.

After you have guests over, do you steam clean carpets or rugs? Steam clean upholstered furniture? Launder bed pillows? Disinfect light switches and stair railings?

Blankets no. I air out by draping over chairs.

No body oils came in contact with the blanket.

Hotels don’t wash actual bedspreads or blankets between guests (just sheets that sandwich a duvet)

I am not sleeping on your carpet or upholstered furniture and my guest pillows are in zipped protectors that get washed. The point is the bed is the place you’re spending most time when you’re staying somewhere. It should be clean

If you concerned about a wrist & foot touch a blanket ….i can only imagine how pillows would gross you out. All that drool, snot, hair & facial oils bypassing the pillow case & pillow protector.

Also - most of world doesn’t have mega machines like on US. Wool blankets not laundered between guests.

I bring my own pillows when I travel for the most part. I don’t sleep well on most other pillows let alone the grossness

Yes, absolutely. I even wash throw rugs - in case they walked barefoot or spilled something.

+1. Seriously, how do PPs who expect everything to be laundered exist in the outside world?
