Our school had two that we have heard of so far:
An athlete who was also a top 5 or top 10 student. A student in the top 5 of his class. |
actually, it's a major difference. especially considering athletic numbers are flat (apps and commitments) |
| Rejected. Kid is heartbroken. |
Hang in there, it’s rough, but they’ll have good options in March. |
| Deferred. 1580/4.0UW. Tons of ECs with leadership roles. Multiple national awards. |
|
Anyone have intel on eventual acceptance rates for students who are deferred in early round?
|
That's awesome. As you're probably aware, its a signal that they'll probably get in to a top school in RD, including Yale. |
| Mine was deferred too. Revising the application list accordingly. :/ |
| If you’re deferred, you have a strong application, and will have good news coming in the spring. |
Heard it was 10% last year. |
| It happened for my 2024 DC last year so don't lose hope. |
Did you kid send a letter of continuing interest? If so, when does that get sent? |
the term “ national award” needs to die |
If you're smart enough to understand this is a way for people to avoid being doxxed.... |
Utterly false. It's called the "soft reject" . My kid got five of them, Princeton, Yale. Hsrvard, Cornell, etc, Deferred and waitlisted. |
