| probably doing "scaling" as others have said. Just to warn you, it's both very expensive and i found it very painful. I will not do it again absent some very clear proof of why it is necessary. |

| My dh had not gone in 15 years. Had a deep cleaning. We have insurance but total before insurance was about $350. I'd go somewhere else! |

| Did it include X-rays? Maybe they also checked for signs of other disease like cancer? |

| Usually a dental hygienist is the one doing the cleaning. Then the dentist comes in. I can't imagine how there wasn't a lot of tartar built up, especially behind your front teeth. |
