End of the American Century

Um, Putin’s long-term gamble in Syria has just failed miserably.

If there is an American flag in front of a house who do you think they voted for?

Flying the American flags won't save us from a corrupt administration ready to give Putin everything he wants. Trump and his plutocratic cabinet are going to destroy this country with private equity greed.

Declaring the end of America is just as dumb as declaring America the end of history.

Thank you Israel. Thank you United States. Thank you President Biden.

Who cares about a little unimportant country like Israel and its killing of Palestinians? By all reports from Israel Hamas is in total control and stronger vs before Israel start this round of genocide. Hamas controls all of Gaza and operates openly.

Israel could disappear tomorrow and 95% of Americans would say good. They got what they deserved. Israel is a nothing country in an unimportant area. The US will cut it off and no one will shed a tear.

Now can we get back to discussing America and not some unviable state?

The issue is that as Biden is leaving office, he is leaving Trump the opportunity to essentially eliminate Russia as a global force and funder of terror and manipulation. Think about it, Russia is responsible for Iran, Assad, Hezbollah, Hamas, Orban, Erdogan, the Houthis and the invasion of Ukraine.

the fall of Assad is seen by many as the first domino to end the Putin regime, parrticularly if they lose Tatarus in Syria.

What will trump do with it? will he afform the USA in global leadership to rival china? Or will he cede and allow russia to gather steam again?

Biden has tee's this up and for as much as I hate trump, he could go down as the greatest American president where foreign policy is concerned, if he did the right thing. I won't hold my breath.

In regard to Syria, Trump is on the record for saying that he does not want the US to have any input in the new Syria. He wants China and Russia to handle what becomes of Syria with the fall of Assad. The US has approximately 900 boots on the ground military personnel currently in Syria and Trump says he is bringing them home.

Might be a good time to go buy some more asset management stock.

China has been predicted to overtake the US economy for decades. This made sense years ago, but the legacy of the One Child rule appears to be preventing this from happening, possibly forever.

Not really relevant, particularly as it seems Trump is not interested in Syria.

In February 1941, Henry Luce, the influential publisher of Time and Life magazines, penned an article heralding the “American Century,” a post-war era in which the United States would apply its newfound standing as the “dominant power in the world” to spread “free economic enterprise” and “the abundant life” around the globe. Luce envisioned the United States as “the principal guarantor of the freedom of the seas” and “the dynamic leader of world trade,” and saw in this future “possibilities of such enormous human progress as to stagger the imagination.”

Donald Trump’s second presidential victory represents a sharp break, and perhaps a permanent one, with the American Century framework.

I agree with this article. Europe and Japan have followed our lead and would continue to do so if given a choice. China has clear intentions of over taking the US. Russia is wandering in the wilderness and declining quickly. The US will soon enter trade wars with our friends and strengthen our opponent.

China is projected to surpass the US economy in 10 years. In 20 years people will look back and point to Trump as the end of American century and influence in the world.

Agree 100%. I also think this is fueled in part by foreign influence, which our government is well aware of, but has failed to produce a public service campaign to educate Americans.

If you pay taxes, you better give a damn! Your hard earned $ is going for weapons which are being sent to all those areas you listed.

The dems tried but the GOP successfully labelled it 'censorship'

But should we allow them to steal all our intellectual property?

Sheldon Adelson and now his widow kept the Republicans rolling in cash and looking the other way all these years. You will not realize it till they sink a carrier group or two. Oh forget About Taiwan. No way the Republicans will cross their major donor. Trump and company will do everything they can to appease China.

Biden just ended his Presidency leaving our evil enemies Russia, Iran and Hezbollah much weaker than they were when he started.

Yet it seems that Trump wants to step back and let China take up the power vacuum, along with letting our enemies rebuild and reclaim what they lost.

I live in Hong Kong. This was a popular sentiment up until about 2021. Since then the economy has been terrible and the demographics are absolutely catastrophic.

They have already peaked, or are so close it won’t matter.
