All-gender work bathrooms

Exactly. Solution— men’s room, woman’s room, and all-gender for those who need one.

To the trans women, welcome to the ladies room. We assume you’ve been practicing the rules for quite some time— you know, “If you sprinkle when you tinkle…” Now don’t disappoint us. 😉

Trans women are women who can just use women’s bathroom.
No need to send men to our bathroom.

Ummm, we definitely don't need inclusivity in bathrooms.

I wouldn’t have a problem with this if the bathrooms had floor to ceiling walls and doors like you see in nicer buildings. Stalls, no. But I hate stalls even in same gender bathrooms—so gross to hear other people’s business.

I'm not sure this is obviously the men. I've worked with women who leave single sex bathrooms nasty. I've seen way more grossness from women who hover and sprinkle than from men in places where it's all been shared single stalls.

I agree that stalls are problematic, and that in a work place or other place where I know and trust the men, I'd rather have all gender if it means I get floor to ceiling doors. In public places, I really like single stall restrooms.

Gross and awkward.

We have single sex and all gender but more all gender.

The all gender bathrooms — which I am sometimes forced to use because of location — are always filthier. Pee on the ground, pee on the seat, business jamming the toilet, paper on the ground, etc. If I possibly can, I walk to the women’s room. It is so much cleaner.

I think this is a great idea. I have been proposing this to our management for a while and it seems like they are finally coming around on it.

You win some, you lose some.
I always practice leaving the bathroom cleaner than how I found it!

In our new building, we only have all-gender. In theory, I love this inclusivity and want to be inclusive to trans folks and all gender identities. In practice, women are finding that the men (and it's obviously the men) leave the bathroom really gross and a lot of the women are just avoiding the bathrooms in general. We've tried signs and reminders from supervisors but the problem persists. Any experience with this, ideas, or suggestions?

My suggestion would be to tell management (or the owner if there is one) that their virtue signaling is going to cost them good female employees when they leave the company due to disgusting conditions and they’d better fix it pronto.

In the meantime, could you put a camera outside the door so you can see who goes in and out and try to catch the worst culprits and public shame them into being more respectful?

Where I work we have single occupancy bathrooms that are all gender then we have locker rooms with 2 toilets in each that are one gender ( transgender people can use the one they want to)
Generally they’re not bad but we have a cleaning crew come through every night.
How often are yours cleaned OP?

I grew up in a home with a brother, father and grandfather in my home. We all shared the bathroom. No big deal.

These were your family members. I also change my clothes in front of my kids. Should I do that at work as well?

Presumably your family tries to keep the bathrooms in their private home as clean as possible.

Most cleaners agree that women's bathrooms are more disgusting than men's.
