Who is that? Is that the administrator for each grade?

The head of the counseling department. Check the staff directory.

I found a counseling secretary when I checked. Is that the head person? Are we allowed to switch counselors?

Counselors are the ones who resolve problems right? What is the scope of their job? I don't want to seem clueless when emailing the next higher up.

The resource counselor isn't the secretary. They're one of the counselors who is like the department head of all the other counselors.

Our school doesn't show any resource counselor on their website, just counseling secretary and counselors. I guess I will email the principal. I am also 99 percent sure that this counselor is on DCUM because someone posted here about something only me she and department head would know, in another thread.

Has anyone here asked to be switched to another counselor?

Tried to switch and was unsuccessful.

What is the counselor doing (or not doing) that is so god awful? A gentle reminder that at a high school level, counselors have around 300-500 kids on their caseload. Your kid isn’t the only person on their caseload

-a regular teacher / not a counselor

We work so so hard as teachers and counselors and parents fight tooth and nail against us sometimes getting us fired because their kid got a B and not an A. I don't recommend this profession. F off parents. You hurt and rig the system more than you help. The worst is the pts. They are helicopter a$$holes who try to make unfair advantages for entitled jerky kids.

You'll be remembered by your colleagues for cursing and crying over parents advocating for their children. Haha
