| I never understand complaints about depictions of careers being unrealistic-- of course they're not. I've had a bunch of jobs, including teaching, and the day-in-day-out may be engaging to the person who's doing it, but most of it is no fun to watch |

Yeah but people comparing it to Abbott Elementary, that show is way more realistic in the way it depicts teachers’ lives and the challenges they have.
Not saying I want everything to be as boring as school. Just, when it’s highly unrealistic, it is distracting. |

Curious what people think is so unrealistic about this as a show about teachers.
I’m not a teacher but have kids in public high schools and it doesn’t seem that far off the mark to me. More outrageous of course but that’s TV. The high schoolers seemed very realistic. I like the one where he fails everyone because their essays all suck and they are all surprised that he expects grammar and coherent sentence structure. That felt all too real to me. |
