Why are attitudes suddenly changing about Vance?

These people think that Buttigieg would sweep places like Flint, Deerborn, and Scranton because they have no idea about these places or normal, outside the Beltway America in general.

If Dems run Buttigeig or Shapiro against Vance they will get beat worse than they did this election. Vance has Trump’s populist politics but is much more likable and articulate and has a more relatable background to the working class.

I’m sure bots bought his best selling book and signed the Netflix deal for his movie and got Ron Howard to direct it, huh?

If you can’t figure out why a Trump co-signed, 40 something, Yale graduate with a hard scrabble upbringing from Appalachia and Ohio has a good chance to win in Rust Belt swing states and Georgia you don’t know anything about politics.

None of the Dems you mentioned could parry so well in a long form contentious interview like this. On top of that, he is less contrived and fake than Buttigieg and Shapiro, and has a much more compelling life story.

The call is out to start bashing him now. I'm sure we'll get non-stop stories about how he once killed an innocent squirrel with a bb gun when he was 10 or once failed to open a door for an old lady when he was at Ohio State. The playbook is getting old. What they fail to see is this Trump/Vance pulled the middle together and pushed the fringes on both sides further out.

I loved his interview with Rogan

Now that the libs know he has momentum for 2028, they’re going to start targeting him

He’s a former Democrat

I bet Vance voted for Obama

He has NO momentum. He's been sidelined by Trump. His campaign "rallies" were embarrassing and didn't remotely tap into Trump's energy. What we're seeing is a small segment of posters here starting to look ahead to 2028 and portray him as the next great candidate. He's not.

Dems had a better chance in national politics in the pre-podcast / YouTube age where people couldn’t view primary sources themselves and had to rely almost exclusively on the mainstream media to summarize events for them.

Now, voters don’t need the NYTimes or the WaPo to tell them what Vance said in an interview or speech, they can view the entire speech themselves. And it’s hard to paint Vance as a “weird” guy who rants exclusively about childless cat ladies when there’s videos like this out here.

I have been following politics for 30 years. There hasn’t been a Republican candidate for national office with this type of natural appeal to working class / blue collar voters like this.

When you add on his appeal to young people because of his age and his appeal to POCs because he has biracial kids, he is going to be hard to beat. Especially if he pics a woman for VP.

17 million views on Rogan says otherwise; the exact same numbers Elon Musk did on Rogan. There are metrics that you can use to gauge engagement these days you know…

Agree, and 4 years actually doing something as a Veep. Unlike someone else.

Do yo know the definition of "momentum"?

I haven't changed my mind about him
He is worse than trump because he is articulate and doesn't say crazy things.
Anonymous
I’m from where he’s from and totally understood his book. It was 100% accurate. I liked him after that — he’s obviously very smart. But once he lost the courage in his convictions, he lost me. But I don’t hate him. When you compare him to other young Republicans, ie Gaetz, I’ll take Vance.

Even Trump's rallies were embarassing by that metric. The playing field has changed and you guys are using the old playbook.

Has anyone’s opinion of Vance changed since the election? Republicans are very energized right now and Democrats are feeling the opposite, so it makes sense that there would be more pro Vance chatter.
