| Tatte sells pies?! |
| Honestly, Costco has pumpkin, pecan and apple and they are all delicious. Warm them in the oven and serve with whipped cream and they are fabulous. For $40, you can get all 3 pies and have leftovers for everyone to take home. |
| I just had Costco's apple pie. The crust was ok. But the apple filling????? People seriously enjoy it? The only thing I could taste is syrupy sugar!!! |
No, no they are not delicious. You get what you pay for. Pumpkin has no flavor and apple is cloyingly sweet. |

| I love Costco pies but you have to warm them a little. |
Oh please … The pumpkin and people are both good. A $40 pie is not worth $40. |

Who sells mini pies? Would love to get an assortment.
How are Wegmans pies? |
| Wegmans pies are OK. Nothing I would drive out of the way for. |
I'd love the mini pies but the only place I've seen them is at Giant. Maybe Walmart too. |
Ok it is clear that you are not a dessert person. Sure Costco pies are sufficient if you don't care about quality or flavor, and just want to throw a pie on the table and call it a day. I would bring it to a large gather where people don't care. Although, I would argue that regular grocery stores have better pies than Costco. But there are some bakeries and where I would gladly pay $30 for a good apple pie filled with fresh apple and not just sugar and corn starch if I was the one eating it. I will gladly pay $30/pie every time we drive by Wardensville garden market and would go there for a Thanksgiving pie if it was closer. |
Where are the best grocery store pies? |
|
Just ordered a pear cranberry tart from Tout de Sweet for Wednesday pick up. Last day to preorder is Nov 24. |
Yes, but store bought crusts are not very good. An excellent pie crust is difficult to make but makes a huge difference in quality of the pie. |
