I get a csa delivery from a farm. This week it’s leeks beets onions garlic fennel kale sweet potatoes and squash |
| I bought grapes yesterday and they were delicious. (But the out-of-season raspberries were predictably not good.) |
| This is not a snarky answer, I genuinely marvel every time I go shopping at the availability and quality and variety and relative affordability of fresh produce. It’s absolutely incredible. I know there are bad things about the system but it’s still like a miracle to me every time. I mean I was born and raised here, I’m not comparing it to some austere personal past, but I can read books and stuff and that seems like more than enough to be dazzled by it? |
Not true, you just have to take what's being grown. Our Pennsylvania CSA will have hurukai turnips, broccoli, kale, lettuce, leeks, rutabaga, stripetti squash. It's always delicious. Some things have surprised me too - like potatoes and celery. I didn't think those would taste any different from our CSA than the grocery store but they are SO MUCH BETTER! |
Try Camparis, they aren’t bad by today’s standards. They actually taste of something. |
