It's the Duke of Earl. |
I just got a last-minute email blast to reserve a place in Ocean City this weekend. Um, sure.... |
Wherever Earl makes landfall, it's going to totally fuck up my New England beach plans for Fri-Sun. I just know it. |
I've been keeping an eye on it, but from what they are saying it probably won't have a huge impact here. We may get some rain and wind, but chances are that freak thunderstorm we had a couple weeks ago would be worse. |
No, I'm not concerned. I'm hoping it keeps my BIL from visiting this weekend. |
Should have read before I posted. That should be "something like that freak thunderstorm".... My bad. |
Yeah, we live outside of Annapolis. Isabel was a nightmare. |
Neither howling wind nor torrential rain will keep your BIL from visiting you this weekend. I see in in my crystal ball. |
I'm just glad that we went to the Outer Banks last week instead of this week. At the time that we booked, we really debated it. Phew! |
I was home alone with a 6 day old baby (my first) during Isabel while husband got called in to work. NOT good times.
Now that son has his 7th b-day party this weekend at the pool, so let's all hope the Earl thing just moves along and leaves us (and everyone) alone. |
lvha, is that you??? |
The track seems to be trending westward over the past few days, and it's been getting closer to the Carolinas. FWIW, only one of Weather Underground's models are having it make landfall, and it's not predicted to strengthen -- there's some dry air masses near Earl that will try and disrupt it. |
love it! It takes a natural disaster to ward off a disaster! |
