The news reports say that Hurricane Earl is currently on track for the Carolinas but could also reach land further east. I really don't want a repeat of Isabel. |
I am not concerned about Earl reaching here - yet - but I would be concerned if I were going to the beach this weekend. |
I'd be worried if I lived in Montgomery County. We were there for Isabel and didn't have power for days. |
No. I don't think it's likely to affect us this far inland, and may blow back out to sea altogether by the time it comes this far north. |
Yes. Wind + Rain + Pepco = no power

It's Mother Nature! Anything could happen. I'm watching it. |
I been blocking. I'll probably lose my mind if we lose power again. |
I know I won't be buying anything to put in my fridge... I'm tired of throwing food away. |
In a year with blizzards and tornados and earthquakes and the coldest winter ever and the hottest summer ever, I don't see how Earl can miss us! |
When was the tornado? How did I miss that?
I remember that Isabel was no big deal. Though maybe that's because I never lost power. Pepco has not been doing a great job of managing the power issues, though. I think we'll probably be sure to have plenty of non-perishable food that doesn't need to be cooked on hand -- our gas range has an electric ignition so when the power's out, so is our oven. |
We lost power w/Isabel and didn't get it back for a week. "No big deal," indeed. |
Isabel was no big deal? I didn't lose power, but it was a big deal! Schools were closed for several days, etc. |
O.P who is Earl? Are you talking about the guy who reads the news? |
Yes. I'm concerned about him. He seems depressed. |
This is when I feel a little less unhappy about living in a one bedroom in DC. We never lose power. |
