David Trone must be wondering where his opposition research was. This was low-hanging fruit.
I voted for Alsobrooks because to me the vote was about control of the Senate not the candidates. I also figured there would be an open seat again soon because the mortgage fraud and local tax fraud suggested that there was also federal income tax fraud, which the government actually prosecutes people for. |

Trump stands alone with EVERYTHING he is getting away with. |
And it doesn't really hurt Republicans. |
No, they don't, if you make a boring filing error and correct it when notified |
Is that what you think happened here with the federal income taxes? Seems more willful when you consider there was mortgage fraud and local tax fraud too. |

She violated a technical element of DC property tax regulations. This is a District issue, not a federal tax issue. When she inherited the house from her grandparents she should’ve removed the Senior Homestead Deduction. This provided her a bigger homestead property tax credit than she otherwise should’ve received as a non-elderly owner. The IRS has no skin in enforcement of this issue, it falls squarely on the DC Office of Tax and Revenue. Like I said, no one cares because Marylanders hate paying anything to the DC local government *middle finger* |

I was open to being upset about this but it just seems like a sloppy personal paperwork error. She needs to clean it up but it’s not important. It’s just late taxes and penalties. No biggie.
It wouldn’t be enough to make me like David Trone, personally. It might be a tie breaker, I guess. But nothing that would make me vote for Larry Hogan for Senate. I really think any Republican who tries to tell me this should be disqualifying is acting in bad faith, after I read about it. |

She refused to release her returns so it’s a legitimate question whether she declared rental income given the mortgage fraud, the lack of rental license, and the fraudulent claim local credits. |

[/quote] So you’re positive she included the rental income on her federal taxes? And what about the mortgage fraud? Look I’m glad she won and that it’s not another seat that Democrats have to make up in 26 but if you’re ok with her conduct then your ethical compass is pretty closely aligned with Trump’s. She should resign her seat as soon as she’s sworn in and let Moore appoint another Democrat. |
| Alsobrooks is also ethically challenged. |
Yup. She’s the prime example of what’s wrong with the Democratic Party. They don’t trust the people to decide who represents them, probably because as we see daily on this website a lot of Democrats don’t respect people. Instead they want the power to decide who represents us. Sometimes it works, like with Alsobrooks. And sometimes is fails miserably like with Kennedy-Townsend and Anthony Brown. The MD state Democratic Party is the sad combination of corrupt and incompetent. |
Something that never gets mentioned is that Jack Johnson was her mentor. |
And perhaps her babydaddy. |
Uh, just a sec, I live in Virginia and I have paid one of those camera tickets in the District and one in MD, should I just be giving the middle finger, too?! 😂 |
