Help with the name of an eggplant dish I used to love - Middle Eastern I think

I've tried to recreate a different really great eggplant dish, eggplant with garlicy yogurt sauce, in case anyone knows what that is. They served it at Skewers, a restaurant that used to be in Dupont Circle, with crispy pita chips and parsley, I believe. I haven't been successful at all in figuring out what made it so good.

Sounds like Fattet batinjen. Fried eggplant, tons of fresh garlic in a yogurt sauce with chickpeas and pita chips mixed in. My favorite. I've never tried to make it at home before, but the Lebanese restaurant where I live now doesn't serve it, so maybe I'll give it a try.

Thank you! I've thought about that dish periodically over the last two decades but didn't know what to look up. This might well be it.
