Ever consider not being a jerk? Stop blaming teachers for things they do not control. The quarter ended on 11/1. MCPS locked Canvas submissions at the end of the day. MCPS then had a professional day so that teachers could grade all of the late work that was submitted on the last day of the quarter and finalize grades. Synergy is locked for teachers at 5pm so that the grades can be pulled and report cards produced. If your student believes there is an error with the grading for a HS credit course. Speak with the teacher tomorrow. If there truly is an error that affects the end of quarter grade, you can submit a grade change request. https://ww2.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/forms/pdf/355-27a.pdf |
Not sure what grade you're in but many high school courses have assignments that can be resubmitted. However, you would first need to know where you erred, and make changes in order to resubmit the assignment. This may come as a shock to you, but this is part of how humans learn. Attempt-> feedback->reattempt. If by some stroke of horrible luck you're a teacher, please quit. |
| if there is an error, there is a process to change the grade, even after the books are closed for the quarter. |
I'm so glad you figured out the solution. All overworked teachers should quit.

It is probably going in quarter 2 |
They don’t seem to learn that way in college. No constant retakes. Get it right the first time - much more efficient way of doing things. And there is no MCPS policy that says you must get feedback. |
Bruh. You really type this crap out loud? What an idiotic comment. Why don’t we come to your job and determine how ineffective you are? Why do you DCUM weirdos think you lord over teachers? No wonder no one responds to your emails and concerns. When you act like an entitled idiot, then you get what you deserve. Let your kids advocate for themselves. Unless you don’t care if they live in your basement until they are 49 because they never had to do anything for themselves. |
What is wrong with you? Kids are generally struggling right now. Maybe they need MORE parental intervention, not less. |
Then work WITH the people educating your children. No one wants to work with entitled jerks. No one. |
|
Most teachers are good people. Most parents are good people.
Don't tell teachers to quit but also don't tell parents who have legitimate concerns they are crazy or jerks. |
My kid still has 4 Classwork and Homework assignments that show 0% in Synergy. Oh and Synergy states no missing assignments. No the kid was not absent. Yes the kid turned in the work. And yes, this is just enough to change kids grade from an A to a B. So guess who kid is following up with yet again today. |

Sorry PP. This last minute scramble is hard for kids, parents and the teachers.
I think the union needs to demand more time for teachers to grade during the day and more professional days that do not require some kind of "education" that is useless so they can use that time to do planning, grading or even taking the day off to regroup. |
| Does anyone know when grades are posted? |
Monday 11/11: MP1 Report Cards Available in Synergy |
Different pp.m You need to find a different job if your attitude is this poor. A poster asked about the grade book and you jumped all over them. When they gave you a reason as to why students need feedback from teachers in order to learn you call them entitled (and, oddly. Bruh). You seem to have plenty of time to spend on this board but are defensive about getting your own work graded with meaningful feedback, or in time. It's time to go elsewhere and spare the students. Please do the students who are trying to learn, and the parents who are trying to support them |
