Tired of the weight! Determined!

You’re getting me motivated OP. I’m 160 at 5’3

I think my biggest problem is I didn’t realize I had gained so much weight because my clothes from when I was 120 still fit me. I gained 40 lbs since covid.

I bought skirts to be my measuring test. Stretch clothing is one of the leading causes of obesity. I’m convinced I wouldn’t have let my weight balloon so much if my clothes weren’t fitting and I had to buy new clothing

What are you doing, PP?

I weighed in yesterday and I was around 156.5ish, so down around 1.5 in a week. I’m sure it was water weight, but it’s nice to see the scale moving down. I’ve generally stuck to my 120-130g protein, 1200ish calories.

Last night I did have a treat meal of pizza and wine and feel kind of gross today.

You are disgusting

NP who has struggled with weight my whole life (50+ years of it). Why is this disgusting? When i am massively overweight I know I am. I'd rather have someone tell me I'm fat than gaslight me or make excuses for me. You think OP doesn't know that at 170 5'4 there's a problem? My guess is the poster to whom you replied is a non-native speaker; sounds like some of my Asian grandmothers.

I'd rather someone be honest than condescend too me. Your reply feels condescending.

Last year I joined a nice gym and splurged on a trainer for 3x/week at 3 months ($5k at equinox! ), and ended up getting down to 145. But because of the cost I couldn’t get more sessions. I managed to stay around 140’s for a while, but have again creeped up to 160. . . I’ve continued lifting weights and eating “healthy”, but definitely not staying active enough, and worse, overeating (and overdrinking).

At this point, I’ve had it and very, very determined to get the fat off. I’m working with a trainer 3x/week and eating around 1200 calories, aiming for 120-130 grams of protein. My goal is to get down to 130 by end of June 2025. It’s been a week, and I feel good so far, but definitely craving my first treat meal, which I’ve planned for Monday.

Anyway, no questions - just wondering if anyone else has been there/done that. And I know a number of people are on similar weight-loss journeys.

I don't understand your story. You worked with a trainer, lost weight, then couldn't afford the trainer anymore because of the cost, and gained some weight back. Now you are seeing a trainer again? If you can afford it again, why didn't you just continue to see the trainer throughout? Or, to be honest, why didn't you just continue to do what the trainer taught you to do in the initial three months when you lost all that weight? Once you know what to do at the gym, you don't really need a trainer.

I am an NP and I started trying to lose weight about a month and a half ago. I'm only down 4-5 lbs but I'd like to lose 15 total so that's decent progress.

To my horror, I'm finding that I also feel gross after my treat meals, particularly salty snacks or carb based meals. That was how I felt all the time prior to 6 weeks ago, just very bloated, but I guess I'm getting a new sense of normal maybe. I hope it doesn't totally ruin junk for me, but I suppose less temptation would be good.

Just my two cents, no treat meals! Getting slim is the treat. No cheats while you are losing, just after you cemented the loss!!
