No, it’s not. Meridian HS is in Falls Church City. The land was transferred to FCC years ago as part of a deal for FCC to sell its water authority. |
I've mostly been to daytime events at the W-L gym and the natural lighting is nice. I wish more gyms had windows. But the new LED lights are poorly positioned and create dark shadows along the walls. I think the gyms in most FCPS schools are way too small, but that's my opinion; they are also smaller than what current ed specs call for. The 7-12 grade FCPS secondary schools have massive gyms, which are perfect for regional playoff games, but they lack the intimacy of the old, undersized small FCPS gyms. In terms of both capacity and design, Robinson is the gold standard for gyms in Northern Va. Yorktown strangely has a very poorly designed gym, despite it only being about a decade old. In addition to the poor design, the sound system and HVAC also create uncomfortable acoustics. I have yet to find anyone that likes the Yorktown gym. |
Nope, FCC bought the land from them in a trade for the water utility. |
What’s wrong with it? |
The suggestion was that it’s nicer than most FCPS gyms. |
Oh, thanks. An inference could have been made either way based on the lost. |
