ABC in Midwestern public school but this is the first year they’ve allowed costumes and are having a parade. Usually it’s just a “fall party” but we have new administration

Public school California: ABCD. No one around here has a fall festival, it's just Halloween. Class parties happen but are run by parents so not every class will have one.

K-1 always had a party with crafts and snacks organized by the teacher and maybe a parent. 2-3 had something small organized by the teacher. 4th had snacks brought in by parents (no coordination) and a movie. This year there’s been no talk of snacks, so I think maybe a movie? Pre Covid, the parade did not include the 5th graders, but Covid moved it outside so now all are included

Why wouldn't they include the 5th graders?

I don’t know but remember thinking it was dumb that 5th graders weren’t included. My oldest was remote 5th during Covid and it had switched by the time my next child was in 5th.
