The police report says ski mask. IDK.

Ski masks are in fashion particularly in cities.

For criminals.

So some kids got in a fight? Ok.

Exactly. Oh wow, teens are fighting?! And they'll all be caught because it was right after school and there were lots of witnesses. There's no violent person on the loose. Just some kids who will now most likely be expelled from school. Sigh.

No way. They might get a couple days' suspension and then they'll be right back in class.

Arlington is not a city. And they aren't fashionable here.

I live in Arlington and have a teen. We live outside DC where ski masks are very fashionable. But I love that Becky from Washington Golf is telling me what’s in fashion for a subset of kids at W-L.

“Becky from Washington Golf”

+1. My teen attends the most diverse HS in Arlington, and I’ve never seen the kids wearing ski masks.

I think either you or your daughter must have it reversed? the kid with the mask was the would-be jumper, but got taken down pre-emptively by the would-be jumpees (turned jumpers). That’s what would make sense to me.

How many black kids are they friends with? Yeah, I think I know the answer to that.

You are showing you don't know the demographics of W-L. Black kids are the smallest minority and not, for the most part, troublemakers.

Ski masks are not fashion. They are for keeping your face warm while skiing, or for hiding your face so you can’t be identified.

It was 85 degrees that day. No one needed to be wearing ski anything.

What does this have to do with black kids, PP?

This thread is the most DCUM thing ever. I will explain. There are certain trends in fashion - Jordans, wearing your pants low, and yes wearing ski masks, that many urban kids participate in. The G-Star Raw store in Pentagon City has had a "no ski masks" sign in its window for the past couple of years.

And why does this store tell its fashionable customers not to wear this fashion item that definitely doesn’t have anything to do with hiding one’s face while committing crimes?
