How often does the DH really sleep with the au pair IRL?

I know one single dad who married his au pair. It didn’t work out. He didn’t transition into treating her like a partner and expected to make all of the household decisions and to have her babysit his kid if he wanted to go out with friends.

I mean among people you actually know.

None. Only cases are where wife is socialaholic or workaholic and leaves a young broke woman home with her alcoholic husband without thinking of consequences. However, husband and affair woman are responsible adults liable for their actions.

Why does scum automatically think au pairs are exotic drop dead young girls?

Au Pair was beautiful and fun and great with the kids. And so was the wife and mom. Good time all around when the kids were small. Not an issue at all.

We once had a homely youngish nanny who was clearly into DH, and I let her go at the end of the yearly contract. It wasn't worth the feelings it stirred up.

Arguably, those are less of a threat because they aren't going to settle for an old dad. It's the less attractive girls/women who are ALWAYS around and know your DH is as good as they can get who are a risk. Think Arnold Schwarzenegger and his housekeeper Mildred Baena

In fact, what is very common is au pairs asking the agency to be re-homed because the father starts acting inappropriate toward the au pair. My SIL got two short-term au pair's this way in the DC area - they left because the dad was creeping them out.

In my early 20’s I was the nanny for two years in Connecticut for a young widower with two pre-K children. He never creeped me out and he treated me like a much younger sister. Twice I went with them on vacation and I’m sure some people thought I was a much younger wife. During those two years I learned a lot about child rearing plus what to look for in a husband.

You had a Hallmark movie plot in real life RIGHT THERE! Lame!

That is a weird stereotype of a Nanny or Au Pair are usually ugly.

I think most of them are pretty girls. 💄

I only know of 1 case in my social circle of au pair sleeping with a host dad.

Sadly this is the truth. I was a nanny for years and was friends with other nannies/ au pairs. Lots of creepy husbands and their wives were oblivious.

Also wives who thought the nanny was flirting when in reality the husband communicated with the nanny like a human and the wife was very condescending and talked down to them.
Then their were the wives who made stuff up when the kids started to prefer the nanny.

Haven’t we realized how absolutely immoral Hollywood is yet?

We never had hot Swedish au pair so I was never worried about it. We mostly had wholesome Midwest girls. One was so wonderful we would have adopted her given she became such a member of the family. I’ve never heard about a dad sleeping with a nanny.
