Is Langley Principal Leaving?

Was he correct or did he have Greer mixed up with the TJ principal?

I’m a Langley parent and I have no idea what the other Langley parent is talking about. Maybe that parent is blaming Greer for the two teachers who were arrested? I’m not sure how that is Greer’s fault if there was no evidence of the issues before they were hired.

Both Langley principal and TJ principal are going to the gatehouse?

How many positions do they have at gatehouse? How can so many be promoted? Do any ever leave gatehouse or just it just grow bigger every year?

Did they video the board meeting and post yet to YouTube?

Yes, he was complaining about Langley hiring two “sex offenders” under her watch. He said she should have been fired rather than offered a job with Gatehouse.

How do you know the parents are “very challenging”? Are you one of them?

I interact with many of them in a professional capacity.

What a troll. A racist troll, to be specific.

They probably didn’t want to fire her because it really isn’t their fault. They can hide her at gatehouse for a while and then quietly assign her somewhere else

Yes.

I am a TJ parent.

Dr. Bonitatibus’ email characterized her move to Gatehouse as a “promotion.” That means she will be paid as much or more. She will have a supervising role in Gatehouse’ HR and specifically, hiring department.

She was hired as TJ’s principal 7 years ago, despite not having a STEM degree, not STEM experience.

Her prior experience in California and Maryland primarily involved implementing DEI initiatives.

I one would guess DEI-hiring will be her primary role at Gatehouse.

Can we arrange for the Westfield principal to go with them?

Can you share some drama about the Westfield principal?

I can. He is not there to protect students-he likes to gaslight and make the problems in his school the students fault. But it seems most admin are like this so....

Without specific examples it sounds like your child is a behavior problem. If a high school principal is not holding students accountable for poor choices they aren’t doing their job.

Hardly. Ask any teacher or parent of a well behaved student Administrators usually bend over backwards to protect students including the ones who are constantly causing problems.

Can we all talk about the initial post says a parent testified

When did a school board meeting become a trial

No the parent shared their thoughts and feelings about the matter

The parent wasn’t under oath so you know if the parent said anything incorrect they won’t be jailed for failing to speak 100% correctly

About two sex offender hires

Look hiring people is hiring people, do any of you responding here work in HR or interview panels? Do you ask your potential employees if they frequent child porn sites, do you ask about their masturbating habits, perhaps if they are homosexual or trans, do you ask if they like watching videos of animals having sex, do you ask if they like writing lewd messages in their private time on adult themed websites, etc

So wait you don’t ask that? Why is that would it be because it’s not appropriate

People with issues get hired in positions and some do fine and you never hear anything. Others you find out about but being like principal Greer should’ve known the football coach liked lewd role play and the former student with developmental issues might be caught whipping it out during the school day (or whatever happened there)

The point is you can’t predict all these things in advance. Hell if you tried you’d probably never hire anyone. Imagine oh hi I’m applying for a job as teacher oh and I was a former catholic priest

Hiring panel: no sorry can’t hire you obviously your a child pedophile who raped alter boys

See how that works best huh

Anyone she likely left for more money cushy office in gatehouse less stress etc

Hope Langley gets a good replacement though, but if she’s staying on until new hire is in place that tells me that she does care about the students, staff, and school (despite what parents might think)

Sometimes people leave and they’re like I’m out Nov 1, and Nov 1 comes and there is no one as interim even in place. Be happy that she’s trying to support the transition and not just dip out

FCPS regularly uses the terms "testify" and "testimony" when referring to speakers at School Board meetings. https://www.fcps.edu/school-board/community-participation

You're right the speakers aren't sworn in prior to providing comments. In this case, the Langley speaker was clearly expressing his personal opinion. The issue isn't whether his opinion is valid so much as that it's odd that someone would show up and blast Greer in public when she was already leaving.

If that's indicative of how Langley community members behave, good luck finding a top-notch replacement.

Different Westfield parent. I had an issue I needed to escalate to him. It was a simple admin thing, like getting a student id before school started so student could ask class schedule. Something like that. Student and I both trying to get info from other admin folks to resolve prior to school, but didn’t get resolved. Principal ghosted and never responded to me. Frankly found it pretty rude, but someone else finally resolved.

This. I have heard from many Westfield parents that going to admin is a waste of time and they can't get any help for their students. Time to start going above. We had a similar experience to yours.
