Yes, yes, oh almighty correct one ... it is "dear" not "darling" and your pointing this out TWICE adds oh so much value to this already fairly worthless discussion.

OP, I think your query is too broad. May I suggest you do some searches on the various sub-forums of DCUM?

You are welcome.

this is not correct as National Cathedral and St. Alban's are only counted as 1 since they share a campus a (National Cathedral = all girls St. Alban's = all boys).

People will argue but the "Big 3" are Sidwel, the National Cathedral schools (Beauvior, National Cathederal, St. Alban's) and Georgetown Day School

There are some great other privates that are better fits for a child / family. Some of these include Lowell, WIS, Sheridan, Maret. (Given that you are thinking about SS/Takoma Park I am focusing on the core DC schools as opposed to Potomac / Virginia). I am not familiar enough with the Barrie School in Silver Spring but given where you are looking to live you might want t explore it.

We would never send our kids to GDS. To liberal, too non-athletic, etc. That school is not in our top 5, and I know many other parents who would agree, so unsure how you can claim the "Big 3" is a certain set of schools for everyone.

A classic post reflecting why I want nothing to do with GDS. (and yes, I voted for Obama)

Wow, I am the OP. I do thank you for all the responses. They were helpful. The post about staying in Atlanta, was not from me. Forums don't scare me, you have to sort out all the information as useful or not. Thanks again everyone.

22:07 How do you know that post was from a GDS parent? It could have been someone from, let's see, another top school jerking your chain!

This is pathetic. We might have believed someone really was coming from Atlanta. But, if you were so willing to give up your quest for some anonymous postings on a lame website...it's hardly believable you're for real.
