Now that would be a fun fact. How would you be able to check that?

The cut times are a bit slower than PVS JOs so not faster by that standard. But I bet the winning time in most events is faster.

And the cut-off date is three months earlier, so it is a great meet for kids who have late December-mid-March birthdays.

It’s great that there is as much pomp and circumstance for NCI and Turkey Claus as there is for JOs. Not only does it let the kids that age up before March champs have a meet they can excel in, but it also lets the kids that won’t qualify for high level March champs meets experience what it’s like at a high level meet (prelims/finals, merch, walk out songs).

PVS JOs is considered a club meet? I always thought of it as a league meet.

Speedo Winter Juniors is faster than NCI- that’s where our fastest swimmers will go

It’s the championship meet for all qualifying swimmers in the LSC, but it’s “hosted”/run by a club. But yeah, it’s a USA Swim meet that feeds up to larger meets (zones, sectionals, trials, etc. ) vs a private meet like NCSA, etc.

Well ok, but not your age groupers.

In looking at last year’s meet the only PVS clubs that sent swimmers were ASA (4), AAC (8), Machine (4), and The Fish (1 swimmer that has since transferred to NCAP).

PP- club meet, not a league or National meet.

RMSC doesn’t send anyone to Winter Juniors unless they’re going to miss Holiday Invitationals. Saves money on travel expenses while giving an extra week of training.

That is an apples to oranges comparison. It’s not an age group meet and it’s a national meet. NCI is a club meet but it draws clubs from outside of PVS so that is why it is faster than JOs. I think they had around 18 clubs from outside of PVS attend last year.

DP, but JOs and Winter Juniors are not the same thing. Winter Juniors is a national-level USA Swimming meet with very fast qualifying times (presumably faster than NCI, which is a private club meet). But yes, NCI attracts fast swimmers outside of PVS, so those that final may have Winter Juniors cuts.

Is this a joke. This is a sleepy January meet at a bad pool.

Just because the cut times are faster doesn’t mean everyone there is faster than at another meet.

There have been multiple occasions in the past where the winning time at NCI has been faster than at Juniors
